The Firepit Review

I was first drawn to the Landmann Ball of Fire outdoor fireplace by its unique and rather enchanting design. When alight on my deck it looks like a floating “ball of fire” from a far, but you can get closer as it does a good job of keeping any sparks at bay. After several uses I can confidently say that the Landmann Ball of Fire is a very good burning fire, due to the excellent ventilation.

I have placed my Ball of Fire to the side of my deck, but you could have it anywhere in your yard, the clever design means you really do have a 360 degree view. We have used this firepit on cool evenings to provide warmth, and on warm nights to provide ambiance with friends. The kids love the Ball of Fire it looks ‘cool’ and they love toasting marshmallows – under supervision of course!

The firepit has a large door, so you can feed, or stoke, the fire during the night, easily, whenever it needs. The large door also makes it easy to remove the ashes the next morning. It came with a free cover so you can protect it from winter and the harsh elements.

The Ball of Fire does require some assembly, but this is not difficult, following the instructions I was able to put it together within a 1/2 hour. I was impressed with the solid design and build quality, Landmann may not be the cheapest but they have a well deserved reputation for quality. (A word of warning: If you assemble this firepit indoors then make sure it will fit though your door full size)
